We would like to introduce you to Gun Owners of Utah, informally known as GOUtah! We, as uncompromising, dedicated gun rights activists, are again stepping up to the plate at this difficult time to do our part to help hold the legislative and political line against all those who would seek to abridge or destroy our gun rights. We have been, are now and will continue to be an independent, non-partisan, non-affiliated, no nonsense, no compromise grassroots voice bringing you the honest, unvarnished truth about critical issues facing Utah’s gun owners. Our position is if it’s not in the best interests of or hampers the freedom of even a single Utah gun owner, its not good law or policy.
We don’t expect to win any popularity contests, we realize you may not agree with every conclusion we draw, we know we’ll ruffle some political, media and organizational feathers, and we know that much of this information will not be good news, but it will be the most honest and accurate information currently available to us, and in turn to you, so that you may act quickly and effectively to protect your constitutional rights and firearms freedom. If we don’t do it together, it won’t get done. We hope you will support us in this mission.
Thank you. Now, let’s all get to work! Our rights and freedoms need to be protected today!
By now you’re probably wondering what Gun Owners of Utah (GOUtah!) stands for. Here’s what we believe in and the yardstick by which we’ll make our decisions and take our positions on these important issues. They are our bedrock principles. We hope you’ll share them with us.
This represents the current total dollar amount of Brady background check user fees paid by Utah gun purchasers since November 1998, all in order to maintain the redundant Utah State BCI bureaucracy, instead of relying on the FREE Federal NICS background check system. This is YOUR hard-earned money being wasted, right before your eyes.

To be added or removed from the FAX list send a FAX to (801)944-9937 asking to be added to or removed from the GOUtah! FAX list.
(Please note that it may take several days to add or remove a request from
the GOUtah! database. We'll respond to every request as quickly as our resources allow. We have also received several requests to drop individuals from our FAX network whom our records show are not and never have been included in our GOUtah! database. We can only assume that these individuals are getting GOUtah! materials from some secondary channel of distribution, such as a GOUtah! activist forwarding our materials to friends, co-workers or others. If you do forward our materials, please do so responsibly. Thank you.)
Note: FAX Alerts must sometimes be transmitted late at night, so you'll need a fax system that doesn't make your home telephone ring.

Some of our Reader Feedback
For comments or questions solely concerning this web site contact the webmeister (at) goutahorg.org .
Several GOUtah! activists have expressed concern about the length and repetitive nature of some of the material on the GOUtah! alerts. Several others have expressed concern that when we shorten these alerts to save our FAX transmission time and your FAX supplies, important information on bill descriptions and other critical details are left out. It is our intent to provide you at no charge with the most accurate, complete and up-to-date information available on these issues. As such, we believe that each alert needs to be able to stand alone, containing enough information for you to act effectively, without making you try to find previous GOUtah! alerts for additional supporting information, only to find those earlier alerts have been lost, thrown away or are otherwise unavailable
As such, these alerts must be fairly extensive documents, intended to give you everything you need to take immediate action to protect your gun rights. Some have complained that the GOUtah! FAXes use too much FAX paper and toner, and have asked to be dropped from the FAX list. While we will miss being able to provide them with this free information service, we also understand that some individuals may feel that protecting their gun rights are not worth a few dollars in FAX supplies every year. To each his or her own...
